Translated legal language into easily understandable concepts

Caroline has a gift for explaining legal terms in a way that is easy to understand, and for providing context and interpretation around contract language. My new employer gave me a legal form to sign that included a very restrictive intellectual property agreement. I was worried about maintaining ownership of an existing research proposal, and generally nervous about signing away rights to my ideas. Caroline reviewed the form and provided notes explaining the interpretation of specific clauses, including advice on what I should disclose as existing inventions and how to word these disclosures. When I read Caroline's notes, I immediately felt a huge sense of relief because she had identified and addressed the essence of my concerns so well. She clearly cares about protecting the rights of her clients, and she was able to identify the specific items that might apply to my situation, as well as those that would likely not be enforceable. Once I understood the legal ramifications better, I felt comfortable signing the form.
